In the lovely town of
Standerton, situated in the heart of the cosmos country,
is a unique guest house where guests are assured of
superior accommodation and service.
Die Kliphuis, a landmark in Standerton, is a small,
highly individualistic operation, unlike modern purpose
built hotels. It is a building of character, set in
peaceful country surroundings and has a high standard of
hospitality, comfort and cuisine. The atmosphere
suggests gracious living.
Die
Kliphuis, an elegant sandstone homestead, has over the
past 100 years been used as a maternity home, a boarding
house for young ladies, an officer’s mess in the Anglo
Boer war and a parsonage.
Since being lovingly restored to its original grandeur,
Die Kliphuis has been awarded 4 stars by the South
African Tourism Grading Council and was honoured by its
nomination as a finalist in the 2007 AA Guest House of
the Year Programme.
To stay at Die Kliphuis is an experience in itself,
rather than a mere stop over and guests are assured of
